AL GORE RECEIVES THE PRINCIPE DE ASTURIAS AWARD - 2007-06-13
Ex Vice President of the United States, Al Gore has received the 2007 Principe de Asturias Award in International Cooperation. Gore is the guest of honour in the Wine Academy’s Congress on Climate Change.
The ex Vice President of the United States, Al Gore has received the 2007 Principe de Asturias Award in International Cooperation. Seventeen candidates from twelve different nationalities had also been considered for this award. The jury’s decision was announced by Leopoldo Calvo Sotelo, President of the Principe de Asturias Award, pointed out Gore´s “decisive” contribution towards the progress in solving the problems of climate change which are threatening the planet.
Al Gore will be the opening speaker at the World’s II Congress on Climate Change and Wine conference. This is organised by the Wine Academy of Spain and takes place in the Hesperia Tower Hotel in Barcelona on the 15th and 16th of February.
