The International Symposium on Microbiology and Integral Quality of Wine, is scheduled for the 20th and 21st of November 2007 in Vilafranca del Penedès (Barcelona, Spain). With the acronym of "Microsafetywine" it will be dedicated to the Microbiology and Food Safety of the Wine. The Symposium is organized by the Catalan Institute of Vine and Wine (INCAVI), the Catalan Agency of Food Safety, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of La Rioja, with the collaboration of the Catalan Oenologists Association and with the support of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), as well as other institutions. The Symposium will be a great opportunity to be able to contact technical and research specialists interested in the improvement of the integral quality of vine and wine products in the aspects of food safety that the current consumer demands.
