CONFERENCE ON CLIMATE CHANGE AND WINE IN BRASIL TO PROMOTE THE BARCELONA CONGRESS - 2007-10-31

On the 30th of October Pancho Campo conducted his speech on the impacts of climate change in the wine industry in Sao Paolo, Brazil. As part of the promotional programme of the II World Congress On Climate Change and Wine, which is to take place in Barcelona in 2008, Pancho Campo made a presentation on the impacts of Climate Change in the Wine Industry. The conference was organised in Sao Paolo by the Brazilian Sommmelier Association, and included more than 100 professionals and media. During more than 90 minutes Pancho explained to those present the origin of climate change and its consequences in order to apply this knowledge to viticulture and oenology in the most important wine regions of the world. He also explained the effects which have been observed by well known producers as well as the measures being taken in different regions in order to combat the consequences and be able to adapt to an ever changing climate. The congress that is taking place in Barcelona is sponsored by Banrock Station and Constellation Brands Europe, and is being supported by Generalitat de Catalunya, Incavi, lOIV and Ministry of Environment.
